The SteamPunk Horse-Drawn Streetcar
The Lego Ideas Set, designed by The Founder of SteamPunk Junction. Based on The Historical Horse-Drawn Streetcars that ran in Toronto and its nearby villages, these public transit vehicles ran between 1861 and 1894.
The story began 1849, when local Cabinet Maker Burt Williams established the first mass transportation bus route in Toronto. The first line was from St. Lawrence Station to the Red Lion Inn. By 1861, the William's OmniBus Line became overcrowded, so the City of Toronto established the Toronto Street Railway, and laid down tracks along Yonge Street. This was the dawn of Public Transit in Toronto.
